First-week Italian: campus, housing, pharmacy.
Today's lesson covers the situations you'll meet in your first week — the student office, your accommodation, a pharmacy visit, and asking for urgent help politely.
Pick a lesson to start
01At the segreteria
Booking your appointment, explaining you're an international student, requesting documents in writing.
02Housing & landlord
Room booking, keys, contracts, deposits — and the phrases that protect you on rental day.
03At the pharmacy
Mal di testa, febbre, allergic reactions — politely, accurately, and what NOT to self-diagnose.
04Getting an Italian SIM
TIM, Vodafone, Iliad — the buy-with-passport process and the prepaid-vs-contract decision.
Italian university bureaucracy works on appointments
Italian segreteria offices rarely accept walk-ins — book online (sportello on demand) weeks in advance. Bring originals + photocopies of everything (passport, visa, enrollment letter). If you're told to come back, get a specific date in writing. This is normal — not personal.
